Fireworks display

Do you have any plans on this summer vacation?

I'll go a fireworks display which is held in Shimonoseki city called 'Kannmonn-Kaikyou Hanabitaikai'. Kanmon-Kaikyou is a strait between Shimonoseki and Fukuoka.

It displays so many fireworks. And it's very beautiful!

I'm looking foward to going this fireworks display:)

Oumi-zima

This is Oumi-zima. This is a island which is in the north of Nagato city in Yamaguchi.

Oumi-zima is written 青海島. 青 means blue,　海 means sea, and 島 means island. So, this island is famous in beautiful sea!

There is seaside resorts and campground. It is suitable place which we spend our summer vacation!

And the sunset that sinks in such a beautihul sea is very beautiful, too!

Xavier Church

This is Xavier Church in Ymaguchi city.

I often went to there in my high school days, and joined mass on Sunday.
Then I listened the sermon, sung some hymn.

I have been to some church. But I like this church the best!!
Because, a stained glass window in this church is very beautiful!!

It settles down my mind only because I see this.
Though it is small church on the slope, I like this church.

If I return to my hometown, I would visit there:)

Karato-Ichiba

This is 『Karato-Ichiba』 in shimonoseki city.

Karato-Ichiba is a very lively market. There are many shops and a lot of frsh seafoods are sold.
Some tables are put in front of shops, and pople can eat the bought food soon.

If we went there in early morning, we could see auction.

And if you have a lunch after shopping, I recommend the shop of revoling sushi bar that exist on second floor.

I want you to visit the shop when you go to Karato-Ichiba:)

Do you lile sea?I love it!

Today I show you the place where I like most in my hometown.

This picture is Yakeno Beach.

It is within 10 minutes destance of my house by bycycle. When I was a junior high school student, I used to go to there after school whis my friend. And I sometimes go there now to do barbecue!

And the most interesting for me is the setting sun!It is very very very beautiful!!!!

This picture was taken by me, so it is not very good. But real sunset is more more more beautiful!

I plan to do the barbecue there with my friend during this summer vacation!

Yamaguchi's Food

This is Hanakkori-salad spaghtti. Do you know Hanakkori? Hanakkori is a original vegetable of Yamaguchi! It's mixed saisinn(I don't know how to spell) which is from China and broccoli.

It can be easily eaten only by boilling it as broccoli. And it's taste is very light.

And this is a Kawara-Soba. "Kawara" means "tile", "Chyasoba" means "tea buckwheat noodle". Many people might know this. But don't know that it is local speciality of Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi! I don't know, too.

It is a dish that put the tea buckwheat noodle andingredients on the heated tile as shown in the name.
This is one of my favorite food!

Temple of Yamaguchi

Today I introduce to you about famous temple of Yamaguchi, Ruriko-ji and Hofu Tenman-gu.

First, I show you Ruriko-ji in Yamaguchi city. Thw reason why Ruriko-ji is famous spot is there is a five-stored pagoda which is a national treasure. This pagoda is an old temple in teth and sometimes called Japanese three famous pagodas. In spring, There are many cherry blossoms and plum blossoms. The sight is very beautiful!

And, Hofu Tenman-gu is in Hofu city. This Tenman-gu is dedicated Michizane Sugawara.Michizane Sugawara is a nobleman in Heian Era. And he is called god of syudy. So many students (especially preparing for an examination) buy pencils and lucky charms.
And in spring, many plum blossoms decorate the precincts of temple.

What do you imagine when you here "Yanaguchi prefecture"?
「おいでませ 山口 (welcome to Yamaguchi)」 This is a catch phrase of Yamaguchi. Today, I'll easily explain about Yamaguchi.

Yamaguchi is a small prefecture which has about 150,000 people and is located on the west edge of the Mainland.But it has plenty of appeal!




There are many things from nature to a historic spot as famous sightseeing spot. For example, "Akiyoshidai syuhoudou" "Rurikouzi gozyuunotou" "Hagizyo zyokamati"...









There are rich nature and a history and culture that was built by men who had noble ideal of the Meiji Restoration.

I'll inroduce more minutely about Yamaguchi to you in the topic after this.
